Find Your Imago
If you find yourself repeating patterns in your relationships, or if you choose people who are remarkably similar to your aloof father or controlling mother, you're not alone. Psychologist Harville Hendrix coined the term "imago" to describe the common tendency to heal childhood wounds by finding partners with similar traits as our caretakers. It was the basis of Hendrix's best-selling book, Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples (followed by Keeping the Love You Find: A Guide for Singles). He and his wife, Helen Hunt, founded the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy, currently under the direction of Rick Brown, a myprimetime.com expert columnist.

This puzzle won't replace professional therapy, but it will give you a rough idea about your own imago relationships.
Time required: 5-7 minutes
